I am located between the 2nd and 3rd bay on the coast if you count from the LA border. We are having temps 3 to 7 degrees above normal, and in July there was only 1.5 inches of rain, and no rain so far this month but they are saying a 20 to 30 % chance this weekend.
This is grandfather Charles A Kannards WW1 draft Registration Card. I don’t think he was ever in the army as far as I can determine.
When I saw that a lot of people I know that have blogs were starting with Facebook, I decided what the heck I would do so also.
Well it didn’t take long for me to see that 95% of what is on Facebook was not my cup of tea. So I thought I would change directions in how I used it.
My mom got me started in genealogy on her side of the family, Hubbards. Over 5 years I gathered a lot of info on that side of my family but finding info on the Kannards was a lot harder, a rough count of Kannards of my generation (cousins) is around 22. So I thought I would see just how many Kannards I could find and good lord there were more than I imagined there would be, so I started contacting them and have found 15 descendants of the Caney Kannards. Of course 2 are my children, 1 daughter-in-law, 3 grandchildren, 4 cousins, and the rest are children of my cousins along with their children.
I am offering any of my family members who would like to post stories about their family here just contact me and we will get you set up.
I think that it is important to know our family history and understand how we got to where we are today. So if you are willing lets get going.
